Whether giving directions to the church or for those who pass by the church, many will remember the large timbered cross that hung on the side of the building. Years of weather caused rot and decay to result in the collapse of the center section of the cross last week. After the men of the church assessed the remains, it was decided to remove the remaining sections of the cross from the side of the building for the hazards it posed. No plans have been made as of today to replace the cross.

Lakefront Church of God recently purchased a 22 passenger bus in Miami Fla to assist with the transportation of large church groups such as the choir and youth group. The new bus will comfortably seat 22, and has surround sound, tv, and intercom system.
Work continues on the new sign in front of the church. Brother Garth Risner garnished the idea from a trolley stop in Gatlinburg, TN. The timbers to the sign are all sawed from rough local timbers, and fitted together in the old fashioned style without nails. The new signage will hang beneath a canopy that will be lighted from above and below.
Work Continues in Preparation for this Year's Harvest Festival. Remodeling of our Sorghum-Making Pit9/2/2017 Major renovation is currently underway at the sorghum mill. A new floor of concrete now replaces the once dirt floor in this sugaring area. A new block foundation has been laid. The biggest improvements has been to the fire feed. New natural gas lines will fuel the new pans, and waste plumbing has been added that will take the green waters away from the pan. The new area will alleviate the mud pit that once greeted spectators. The Harvest Festival will be held Oct. 7th.
